III.1.2.3 Contact Results

The correspondence between the Nastran output requests and the DMAP data blocks written in the “op2” file is given in Tables III.1.19. Remarks:

1.

MSC Nastran deprecates XDB Result files and it seems that no Contact Results are stored in XDB.

2.

So far, contact results are read in Real format only. No Complex Results are read.

3.

Contact and gluing Results are also available in nodal “Grid Point Forces” Results (Table III.1.10).

4.

Contact Adjustment Results are read from the HDF5 only.

5.

Most Results are nodal Results. (Result keys only define the node ID.)

6.

The “Contact Stresses” Results are presented as a vector Result. The components are the Normal stress component, and the two friction components F1 and F2. These components are associated with the coordinate system “NONE” because no corresponding orientation is read.

7.

Scalar Results corresponding to “OFCON3D” are not really scalar Results as they correspond to integers. The component means nothing and is set to -999999. Information read from the Result file is transferred via the integer coordinate system ID:

8.

The “Contact Pair” vectorial Results corresponding to OP2 table “OFCRFM” have keys defined as follows:

9.

“Contact Body” Results are given with respect to the basic coordinate system.

10.

For “Contact Body” Results the element ID of the key corresponds to the body ID.
